MRCA Charity Golf & Dinner 2025: A Swing of Solidarity for Education and Community Upliftment

Kuala Lumpur, 21 July – The Malaysia Retail Chain Association (MRCA) successfully hosted its Charity Golf & Dinner 2025 on 11th July at the Bangi Golf Resort. The event brought together leading figures from Malaysia’s retail and business community in support of charitable efforts while nurturing connections across the retail industry and business community.

With the participation of 80 golfers and over 150 attendees at the dinner, the event combined friendly golf competition with charitable giving, raising substantial funds for the MRCA Branding Education Foundation.

Proceeds from the event will be channelled towards the Foundation’s initiatives, reinforcing its commitment to corporate social responsibility and community upliftment.

MRCA President Datuk Dr Ken Phua, in his opening address, underscored the association’s dual commitment to excellence and empathy: “Beyond fostering industry ties, tonight is a celebration of our collective responsibility to uplift communities. Every swing today echoes our pledge to education and compassion.”

MRCA Branding Education Charity Foundation, established in 2010 with RM1 million raised,  dedicating its effort in three core areas: educational assistance for deserving students, medical aid for vulnerable groups, and financial support for the underprivileged.

A highlight of the evening was the celebration of MRCA’s ongoing charitable commitments. MRCA Branding Education Charity Foundation Founder Chairman Dato’ Tay Sim Kim stated: “Building on the success of our Chinese New Year Gala Dinner, all proceeds raised today, including those from tonight’s silent charity auction, will go directly to selected homes and charitable initiatives in urgent need, further supporting underprivileged communities and educational programs through our foundation.”
