Team Member

Lum Chih Feng

Mr Lum Chih Feng is an experienced communication practitioner whose illustrious career in journalism and broadcast media spans more than two decades.

Equipped with a strong media and communication background, he is skilled in media relations & monitoring, public affairs, speech writing and hosting live shows.

Prior to joining Impact Advisory, Lum Chih Feng is a seasoned media communication professional and specialist with 22 years of experience, having served in various positions within the print, electronic and broadcast media industry.

He was the content manager of CITYPlus since its inception in April 2017 until May 2023. CITYPlus, is the first Chinese business radio station in Malaysia.

His responsibilities included content and news planning for the radio station, as well as hosting two programmes which focus on current affairs, politics and business at home and abroad.

He has adopted a different way of hosting news and current affairs content in the “Editor’s Pick” (《主编点新闻》) and “Editor’s Headline” (《主编点头条》) programmes.

For the first time in Malaysia, these daily programmes were presented by using the approach of commentary, in which the news and current affairs were discussed and presented from various angles and points of view.

Beside current affairs content, he also hosted business and finance shows, interviewing startups, corporate, business and public listed company owners.

He was born and bred in Penang, and holds a Bachelor of Property Management (Hons) Degree from Universiti Technologi Malaysia (UTM), Johor Bahru.

Throughout his 22 years of experience in the journalism and broadcast media industry, he has covered local current affairs, politics, finance and business news as well as overseas media assignments.

Prior to CITYPlus, he was with two Chinese newspapers, Nanyang Siang Pau (May 2001 – February 2003) and Oriental Daily News (March 2003 – March 2017) for 16 years, serving as a feature writer, reporter, senior reporter and deputy news editor. He then progressed to the new media and served as E-News Editor, setting up and managing news websites and social media platforms for the newspaper.
He was a regular commentator for TV (8TV, NTV7, TV2, Astro AEC) and Chinese radio stations.

He is also a columnist with printed media (Oriental Daily News, China Press).

He is also a regular commentator on Singapore TV and radio station for Malaysia current affairs, and columnist with Singapore Chinese-language newspaper Shin Min Daily News published by Singapore Press Holdings. 

Alex Te


Alex started his career with Sunway Group as a management trainee under the SMART program for 2 years before transferred to Sunway Construction Group. He was then promoted to Business Development senior executive focusing on project tender and international expansion. He was also involved in PR marketing, management reporting and company website development.

After 5 years with the conglomerate, he joined Country Garden Malaysia region, China largest real estate company as a Strategy Manager. His main task at the company was to formulate and implement the strategic initiatives ranging from public policies, PR strategies and corporate development. His key strengths lie in Government Engagement & Partnerships, Business Analysis and Corporate Branding.

He started his entrepreneurial journey by co-founded a distribution and trading company in 2019. He is keen to utilise his experience and skill sets to help start-up, SMEs and public listed companies to bridge the communication gap between investors, media personnels and business owners.

Chuah Bee Kim

Senior Associate

Miss Chuah Bee Kim was a journalist with the New Straits Times for close to 18 years. She was attached to the NST Johor Bureau, and had worked under various bureau chiefs.

In 2012, she won the Gold Award for the Best Greentech Journalism for English newspapers in the Malaysia Greentech Awards, organized by the Energy, Green Technology and Water Ministry, for an article titled “The Sun’s Help In Going Green”.

After bidding adieu to the NST in August 2017, she joined a Fortune Global 500 real estate company as the Corporate Communications Manager. She was later appointed as the Senior Brand Manager in the same company. Her scope of work included writing media statements, speeches, investor relations, maintaining close ties with Members of the Press and stakeholders.

In 2021 she began writing for the NST once again. This time as a columnist where she features notable corporate figures and founders of startups on the Business section of the English daily.
